Letter from the President

Hello and Welcome to the Phi Eta Chapter of Tri Delta! Thank you for taking the time to explore our website to see what life as a Tri Delta at Texas Tech is all about. We have been part of the Texas Tech community for over sixty years.  Our chapter is proud to have maintained academic excellence, and similarly proud of being the Texas Tech Greek Life’s top fundraising chapter on Greek Circle. The sisterhood has a great time helping fundraise, studying and hosting social events. We are looking forward to another successful year and can’t wait for our next group of new members!

Service and philanthropy are a very important part of Tri Delta. We host an annual country music event, Delta’s After Dark, which takes place in the fall and benefits St. Jude. Come enjoy some Texas BBQ, s’mores and a big helping of country music to help support an amazing philanthropy! Additionally, we have a spring event called Sincerely Yours, which is when all members write letters to their friends and family asking for donations to help St. Jude. It is incredible to see how much college students can raise for a philanthropy when we all come together. Tri Delta is St Jude’s’ top donor, surpassing some of the largest corporations in the country. Some members have the opportunity to visit St. Jude Hospital to see what Tri Delta helps fund. It is an amazing experience to see all of the colors, and deltas that surround the hospital. Despite the unprecedented events of 2020, we were still able to fundraise for St. Jude. We are looking forward to being able to raise more this coming year!

Academics are an important part of Tri Delta. We take pride in our study program. All New Members are required to obtain study hours at certain locations on and off campus. I can speak from firsthand experience that study hours definitely bolster your academic success. Study hours also gave me the opportunity to bond with my new member class, and older classes as well.

Making the decision to join the Tri Delta family at Texas Tech has been both an exciting and fulfilling decision. Being a part of this chapter has allowed me to make so many friendships that will last a lifetime.  It has also bolstered my studies and enhanced my leadership skills. I am so grateful for the opportunity to lead as Chapter President. I am excited to have the chance to make a powerful impact on this outstanding organization. Each member brings their own unique personalities that make up our Tri Delta, and we could not be more excited to welcome home our next New Member class. We hope you enjoy learning more about our chapter, hope to see you soon!

Delta Love and Mine,

Sydney Casey
