Chapter Philanthropy and Service

Tri Delta Phi Eta proudly supports St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. One of the reasons that St. Jude is so important to us, is because the families of patients never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food. This allows them to focus on helping their child live, regardless of the duration or the cost of care. Our chapter is truly inspired by the work done at this one-of-a-kind place, and we are motivated as a sisterhood to be a helping hand to these patients in everything we do.

At Texas Tech Phi Eta, collegiate women come together and play a critical role in fundraising for St. Jude with campus philanthropy events such as Delta House of Pancakes, Delta After Dark, our annual Golf Tournament, and Sincerely Yours. Throughout these events, all proceeds go directly toward St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In between these larger events, we continue to participate in givebacks for St. Jude through partnering with other Texas Tech student organizations, and local businesses.

In 2001, Phi Eta first partnered with St. Jude, and we raised $335 that year. We are proud to say that our chapter has come a long way since then! We have currently raised over $1 million for the children of St. Jude with the help of our current members, Phi Eta alumni, and the Lubbock community! This is an incredible milestone for not only Phi Eta but also for the children.

Beyond Phi Eta, Tri Delta as a whole hit a milestone in June of 2024, raising $100 million toward St. Jude over the 25 years of our partnership. My Assistant of Philanthropy, Mia Plesant, and I had the privilege of traveling to Memphis, Tennessee to visit St. Jude and Tri Delta place to celebrate this outstanding accomplishment. While in Memphis, we were able to have a more hands-on experience with the work that St. Jude does. It was amazing to see what Phi Eta, as well as Tri Delta chapters all over the nation, have done to support St. Jude in its efforts.

Our philanthropic efforts are truly the essence of our organization, and we do everything with St. Jude patients in mind! We are very proud of our fundraising accomplishments, and we are honored and thrilled to continue raising money for the research, patients, and families of this incredible establishment! I am beyond grateful to serve Phi Eta as our 2024 - 2025 Director of Philanthropy, and I cannot wait to continue emphasizing why we do what we do.

With Delta Love,
