Letter from the President

Hello everyone and welcome to the Phi Eta Chapter of Tri Delta! The women of Texas Tech Tri Delta are excited to have you explore our website and see all that we are about. Phi Eta was established in 1953 meaning that we have been a part of the Texas Tech Greek life community for 70 years! That said, Phi Eta is proud to be the top fundraiser within Texas Tech Greek life while maintaining academic success. Our sisterhood is a bond that is unbreakable and we cannot wait to see what this year will hold!
Tri Delta is built around members with similar values but we all share a common love for philanthropy and service. For the 2023-2024 school year, we have many exciting things planned! One event that is something we highly look forward to is Delta After Dark, which is a country concert filled with BBQ, S’mores, live music, games, and more, all to raise money for St. Jude. We also participate in DHOP, Delta House of Pancakes, where our members cook pancakes for people who purchase a ticket and they get to enjoy all they can eat! In the Spring, we have an event called Sincerely Yours in which the women of our chapter write handwritten letters asking friends and family for donations to benefit St. Jude. Last, but not least, we host the Tri Delta Invitational golf tournament annually and it is always a blast. The philanthropy events that we hold are always so entertaining, yet we recognize the main reason why we are there. In April of 2023, Phi Eta hit 1 million dollars raised for St. Jude since 2007. It is truly moving to see what each member's contributions can do to help the children of St. Jude.
Phi Eta provides many opportunities for our members to succeed academically. All New Members partake in study hours at different coffee shops, the lodge, and specific spots around campus within their first semester. Scheduling specific time to study in my first semester helped me greatly throughout my college career because it allowed me to take that time solely to focus on school. We realize that college is a busy time so having that discipline of concentrating on homework for a few hours a week is very beneficial. We also have sisterhood events called “study parties” where there is food and other fun stuff to help us focus while we all study together at the lodge! It is very comforting to have sisters to lean on, not only mentally, but academically when college is such a big change.
When I accepted my bid at Tri Delta, I never imagined I would be in the position that I am in today. Tri Delta has given me the most amazing friends, mentors, and a support system that I will forever be grateful for. The confidence that I have gained being a part of this chapter is something that I haven’t ever experienced before. I am empowered daily by the strong women that surround me. I am so blessed and excited for the upcoming year in which I will lead the Phi Eta chapter as Chapter President. Every member in this chapter is what makes Phi Eta so unique and we cannot wait to welcome home our next New Member class. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at our website and we hope to see you soon!
Delta Love,
